, helping the homeless

11 Aug

Usually I think about what I am going to write on  my blog sometimes hours before I actually sit down and start typing. I want to write about the  problem of homelessness around us, and how you can help out. I found myself in this very position years ago. My back went out, and I mean bad, where I was off work for 2 months! I lost my home, and my wife and 3 small children were forced to live out of a motel for a while. I’m thankful that we had enough money to do so. But, no child should ever be put in that situation. They have enough to worry about in their own little world. I did go back to work, and we found another house to rent.

One way that you can help out if you feel like I do about homelessness is to use an Internet search engine called They pay one penny for every search that you do. You’d be surprise about how much and how fast that you can earn money to give to your local charity. I know I was! The best part of all is that they allow you to choose which charity to for them to send it to. They do all the work. If your favorite charity is not listed. they give you the opportunity to list that charity. My choice right now is The Love Kitchen in Knoxville, Tennessee. Helen Ashe, and Ellen Turner are 2 sisters who are grandmotherly types who still help out today at the Love Kitchen. My hat is off to them folks. At a time when they should be enjoying their retirement, they find happiness in helping the less fortunate.

Thank you for reading this and for allowing me to  share an issue with you that is close to my heart. Stay cool, it’s still hot out there. Another thing that got me thinking about the homeless is the current hot weather.  I’ll see you next time.
